Alpha Delta Pi Firsts

First WASP Test Pilot

Alpha Delta Pi women lead the way in service to their country too. Members have participated in war relief work and were some of the first to enlist in the women's branches of the military. During World War II, Mildred "Micky" Axton (center) was one of the first three Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) test pilots and was the first woman to fly a B-29. Later, she flew the only B-29 still in service for an air show in 1991.
